Parsons Dance - praised around the world for its virtuosity, exceptional theatricality, athleticism, energy and accessibility - presents the culminating performance of its tenth annual New York City Summer Intensive Workshop for pre-professional and professional dancers, the Summer Intensive Showcase, on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 7pm.

Parsons Dance presents two short evenings as part of the company's 10th annual Summer Intensive Workshop for professional and pre-professional dancers. The performances are produced in collaboration with the company's education partners, Marymount Manhattan College and Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, and will feature performances of the acclaimed works: Wolfgang (2005), Hand Dance (2003), Caught (1981), Swing Shift (2003) and Ebben, an excerpt from the dance/rock opera Remember Me (2009).

Auditions will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 1-6pm at Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, 248 West 60th Street, NYC. Appointments are required for the audition and dancers must bring headshots and resumes.

The talented dancers receiving the scholarships this year are Leslie Duner and Jamie Baptist.

Casting for the first two weeks of American Ballet Theatre's 2010 Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.

Judith Jamison today announced that her mantle as Artistic Director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will pass to Robert Battle, a fast-rising choreographer who has created ballets for the Ailey company and Ailey II since 1999 and has served as an artist-in-residence with The Ailey School.

The Joyce Theater will welcome an impressive roster of the world's most acclaimed dance companies for its 2010-2011 Fall/Winter Season, which will include several debuts and four international companies, all presenting U.S. premieres.
