The 2011-2012 season of Metropolitan Museum Concerts combines the return of acclaimed ensemble series - Pacifica Quartet, New York Philharmonic CONTACT!, and Metropolitan Museum Artists in Concert - with unique programs conceived to complement the Met's collection and galleries by a distinguished roster of world-renowned artists.

Chicago Opera Theater (COT) presents the final production of their 2011 Spring Festival Season: "He/She", which includes Schumann's Frauenliebe und Leben (A Woman's Love and Life) and Jana?ek's The Diary of One Who Disappeared (Zapisnik zmizeleho) on May 7 and 8 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park.

This month, Thomas Hampson - recently named the recipient of the 2011 Concertgebouw Prize - returns to Europe for an extensive series of concerts and recitals, bringing his season-long "Mahler Odyssey" to a grand conclusion.

Screenvision, the leading innovator in cinema advertising, announced that tickets will be on sale tomorrow (May 6th) for its limited presentation of the New York Philharmonic's critically acclaimed, all-star revival of Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award-winning musical, Company. Through an arrangement with Ellen M. Krass Productions and the New York Philharmonic, Screenvision will bring the special performance - recorded live last month at Lincoln Center's famed Avery Fisher Hall in New York City - to hundreds of its North American digital cinema theaters beginning on June 15.

Twenty-six-year-old American mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano, winner of the 2009 Young Concert Artists International Auditions and a fast-rising star at the Metropolitan Opera, makes her New York recital debut, sponsored by the Peter Marino Debut Prize, in the Young Concert Artists Series on Monday, May 2, 2011, at Merkin Concert Hall, accompanied by pianist Christopher Cano.

Thomas Hampson returns to the U.S. this month for two concerts with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, featuring songs from six of the American Songbooks by George Crumb.

Music Director Alan Gilbert, The Yoko Nagae Ceschina Chair, will conduct the New York Philharmonic in Messiaen's Couleurs de la cité céleste and Mahler's Symphony No. 5, Thursday, April 28, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 29, at 2:00 p.m., and Saturday, April 30, at 8:00 p.m. He will be joined in these concerts by pianist Emanuel Ax, who is performing his 100th concert with the New York Philharmonic on April 28, and who will play Debussy's Estampes for solo piano, and the Messiaen work with the Orchestra.

Violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, The Mary and James G. In June 2011, The New York Philharmonic This Week - the two-hour, national weekly and international radio program of concerts by the New York Philharmonic, hosted by actor Alec Baldwin - begins with a program that will be recorded at a concert on the Orchestra's EUROPE / SPRING 2011 tour.

Violinist Jennifer Koh, cellist Anssi Karttunen, and pianist/composer Magnus Lindberg will give a free performance on Tuesday, May 10 at 7 p.m. at the Baryshnikov Arts Center's Howard Gilman Performance Space.

The audio of the performance will be broadcast onto the adjacent Pulpit Green, weather permitting.

Screenvision, the leading innovator in cinema advertising, continues its mission to bring the best from the world of fine arts to movie theaters as it will present the New York Philharmonic's all-new, star-studded production of Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award-winning musical, Company. Through an arrangement with Ellen M. Krass Productions and the New York Philharmonic, Screenvision will bring the special performance recorded live in New York at Lincoln Center's famed Avery Fisher Hall to its North American digital cinema network for a limited number of engagements beginning June 15. The concert will be screened in over 500 theaters, with four showings per venue. Tickets will average $18.

Violinist Itzhak Perlman will perform music from Vienna and Hollywood with the New York Philharmonic on Monday, April 11, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert. The program replaces the previously announced Henry V: A Shakespeare Scenario, narrated by Christopher Plummer. Mr. Plummer has had to reschedule his appearance with the Orchestra due to the extended filming of Barrymore; a new concert date will be announced at a later time. Repertoire for Mr. Perlman's program will be announced shortly.

Christopher Plummer will narrate Henry V: A Shakespeare Scenario, with music from Sir William Walton's score for the Laurence Olivier film of Shakespeare's Henry V, conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, The Yoko Nagae Ceschina Chair, Monday, April 11, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. The program will also include music of Shakespeare's time. Joining the New York Philharmonic will be the Manhattan School of Music Symphonic Chorus and Chamber Choir, Kent Tritle, director, and The American Boychoir, Fernando Malvar-Ruiz, director.

On May 5, 2011, Carnegie Hall will commemorate its 120th anniversary with an all-star gala concert featuring conductor Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic and special guests pianist Emanuel Ax, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, violinist Gil Shaham, and the four-time Tony Award-winning singer and actress Audra McDonald.
