The Rocky Horror Show - Musical Theatre Southwest
THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW Music, Lyrics, and Book by Richard O'Brien Directed by Brian Clifton A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR: As you prepare for your audition, there are a few things to think about. This production will not be the standard, typical version of the show. This production will be set in 198o's during the Punk Rock period. The roles of Eddie and Dr. Scott with be played by one actor and that actor will be a FEMALE in drag as a male. Additionally, the Actor cast in the role of Janet will have a moment in the show where she will appear topless. It is a very fast moment, but it is in there nonetheless. Actors wanting this part should be prepared for that. The most important aspect of this cast for me will be 15 people who can sing their faces off, dance and create unique characters and who aren't afraid to take risks. No fear. I need people who are willing to risk possibly looking silly in order to create something magical. Your physical appearance is the very last thing I will consider. If you can do all of the things mentioned above and happen to be physically different than what you are used to seeing with these characters, you could find yourself cast. With the exception of the character of Rocky, what you look like will have very little influence on casting. I am really looking for my own talented band of weirdos to take this journey with. Think you have what it takes? I'd love to see you! Due to the mature content of this show, we will only be able to cast people 18 and over. Thank you! PLEASE NOTE: This production will utilize brief (topless) nudity for the role of Janet Weiss. Additionally, actors (especially the actor cast as Rocky) must be comfortable in skimpy, body revealing clothing.
