The Addams Family - Belmont Dramatic Club
The Belmont Dramatic Club proudly announces auditions for the spring musical The Addams Family.
Auditions are November 9 & 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Belmont Town Hall.
Callbacks are November 12 at 7 p.m.
The performance schedule is April 15, 16, 22, 23 & 24 of 2016. Please note these performance dates when auditioning.
Those auditioning are asked to prepare their own song with no more than 32 bars. An accompanist will be provided. There will also be cold reading from the script as well as a short dance audition.
The show is directed/music directed by Mike Hoffmann with choreography by Melissa Lynch.

Synopsis of the show:
THE ADDAMS FAMILY features an original story, and it's every father's nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family - a man her parents have never met. And if that weren't upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he's never done before - keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's 'normal' boyfriend and his parents.
Characters:
Gomez Addams - the patriarch of the Addams Clan. Baritone
Morticia Addams - the matriarch of the Addams Clan. Mezzo
Uncle Fester - brother to Gomez, in love with the moon and a complete comedian. Baritone/Tenor
Grandma - the elderly nut of the family; a comedian. Alto
Wednesday Addams - the Princess of Darkness. Higher Alto/Mezzo - must have legit belt
Pugsley Addams - Wednesday's little brother. Boy Soprano/Tenor
Lurch - the butler. Does not "speak", only grunts and moans until the end of the show. Looking for a legitimate slightly operatic Bass.
Mal Beineke - father to Lucas. A total bore. Tenor
Alice Beineke - mother to Lucas. She becomes her "true" self in Full Disclosure.
Lucas Beineke - in love with Wednesday. Tenor
The Addams Ancestors - the "ensemble". Various members of the Addams clan come back from the dead. We would like to cast 5 men and 5 women.
