Nonequity. Casting "Radiance, The Passion of Marie Curie," by Alan Alda. Synopsis: With backbreaking work in a ramshackle lab in Paris, Marie Curie and her husband Pierre achieve a revolutionary understanding of radiation and share a Nobel Prize. When her beloved Pierre dies in an accident, Marie is plunged into depression. Paul Langevin, fleeing an unhappy marriage, gives her the strength to return to her work. But the scandal over their affair threatens to end her career--just when she might become the first person ever to receive a second Nobel Prize. Auditions 3/25/2015 and 3/27/2015 in the evening at CAP21 Studios. Auditions are by appointment only and will consist of cold readings from script. Marie Curie-female, 30-40-Polish or Baltic Accent, an outsider in Parisian society; the object of affection and desire of her husband Pierre and her lover Paul. Pierre Curie-male, 33-45-husband of Marie, completely devoted; they have a passionate love of each other and science; dies shortly after they receive the Nobel Prize; part of the male scientific establishment, part of Parisian society. Paul Langevin-male, 30-36-doctoral student of Pierre Curie; lover of Marie when Pierre dies; husband of Jeanne; part of male scientific and Parisian societies; Marie and Paul's affair threatens her being awarded the second Nobel Prize and being accepted into the scientific community. Emile Borel-male, 30-37-mathematician, confidante to Paul; part of male scientific and Parisian societies. Terbourgie/Tornebladh-male, 30-40-Terbourgie is a newspaper reporter, plans to duel Paul; Dr. Tornebladh is president of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, which selects Nobel Prize in chemistry, and he did not allow Marie to take the stage when she and her husband jointly won first Nobel Prize.
