PCA will hold auditions for their PCA Young Singers on Saturday, September 7 at 10am in the PCA Boardroom. Those auditioning do not have to prepare anything, just be ready to sing. The PCA Young Singers (PCAYS) is a choral group for 3rd-6th graders who will learn to read music, sing in a group, get ear training, and proper vocal production instruction and will perform several times at PCA (possibly elsewhere) through the 2013 – 2014 Season. The PCAYS will meet on Saturdays, 10-11am in the PCA Boardroom (208 N. Marina St.). The first Session will run from September 14 – Nov 23th, the second Session will run from Jan. 11th - April 26th. monicaashton@gmail.com). Cost to participate in the PCAYS is: New participants $120 Returning participants $90 Subsequent Siblings $90
PCA will also hold a one-day Audition Workshop: Saturday, Sept 7th; 11am-1pm open to all ages and experience levels. The workshop will teach and practice a cold reading technique designed to get the actors’ eyes off of the page to better connect with other actors allowing actors to better show off their talents. Participants may prepare a monologue to perform for feedback and possible adjustments. The workshop will conclude with a Q&A session. The workshop will be led by PCA Executive Director, Jon Meyer (
director@pca-az.net) though other PCA directors will be invited to participate to offer feedback to class participants. The workshop will meet at PCA’s Stage Too (next to Peregrine Book Co., access is from the alley in the back of the buildings. The fee for the Audition Workshop is $25.
