Auditions for Family Theatre’s
MULAN JR.
Auditions will be held on TUESDAY September 4th and WEDNESDAY September 5th from 4:30-6:30 PM at the PCA Theatre, 208 N. Marina. Performances are 11/15-11/18. There will be no rehearsals the week of Fall Break.
Children, young adults and adults are encouraged to audition for this show. This is true “Family Theatre”
The Huns have invaded, and it is up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous sidekick Mushu to save the Emperor! Disney's MULAN JR. is a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor and a fighting spirit. The score includes favorites like “Reflection,” “Honor to Us All” and “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” as well as new songs.
There are numerous characters in the show many of which can be portrayed by male or female actors. All roles require some singing ranging from solo work to ensemble. Choreography for the show will include stylized Chinese Dance, and Tai Chai movements plus some more contemporary or “funky” movement. (Dance experience is not necessary, but a willingness to learn new movements will help make the production experience more enjoyable.)
Actors should come to auditions with a short prepared song of about 16 measures. An accompanist will be available during auditions, plus auditions can be done with CDs utilizing music tracks for accompaniment. A short reading of selected scenes from the script will also be part of the audition
