For appointments please email Jenna Duncan at audition@imaginationstage.org. Auditions will be in 5 minute time slots. AEA members without appointments will be seen as time permits on the day of.


CONTRACT

TYA Tier 1; $475.00/week


SEEKING

Actors who are strong singers and dancers as our season includes a number of musicals. We are seeking actors 18 years or older. Actor/Musicians (Piano, Guitar, Harmonica, etc.) and puppeteers are highly encouraged to audition.



PREPARATION

Please prepare a 2 minute monologue.
Your audition material does not need to be from a children's show.
Bring picture and resume.

THE SMARTEST GIRL IN THE WORLD

Description: Leo is studying to get on his school’s team for the TV Challenge while his younger sister would prefer to play. The two share dreams of being successful, and making life easier for their overworked parents. When Mami & Papi forbid Leo from accepting a place on the team because he has sickle cell and cannot travel, Leo feels thwarted. Lizzy decides to help by studying to make the Challenge team herself and thereby achieve Leo and her dreams.

LIZZY MARTINEZ, a second grader. Later a third grader.

CHARLOTTE’S WEB

Fern Arable is a soft-hearted farm girl who objects to her father’s plan to kill the runt of the pig litter. As a result, she gets to bottle-feed Wilbur and, during this time, she develops a strong attachment to him. Her father agrees to board Wilbur with the family relations so that Fern can visit him after school. At the Zuckerman Farm, Wilbur meets a silly goose, a morbid sheep, the selfish rat Templeton, and the spider Charlotte. Everyone but young Wilbur knows that the pig is being fattened up for slaughter but when she sees Wilbur’s despair, Charlotte makes a plan to save him.

THE PRINCESS AND THE PAUPER: A BOLLYWOOD TALE

Set in long ago and faraway India, this adaptation stars a spoiled Princess called Razia and a shy peasant girl named Zainab. Zainab accompanies her mother Hema to the palace to deliver a coronation cape, but while Hema is fitting the Wazir, Zainab sneaks into the Princess’s mango garden. The girls notice how similar they are in looks and exchange clothes. A mix-up ensues and Razia ends up living Zainab’s life and vice-versa. Razia soon discovers how unfairly the common people are treated.

ROBIN HOOD

The traditional story is framed with contemporary beggar characters who beg from the audience and wonder if any hero will ever come along to set right their world’s injustices. Suddenly we transform into The Sherwood Forest where The Sheriff of Nottingham kills a peasant for poaching a royal deer. The peasant’s son, Much, is saved by the arrival of Robin who takes the Sheriff's money bags and welcomes the boy to his Merry Men. This event kicks off the Sheriff’s long battle to trap Robin and put an end to his do-gooding.

The play features five Elementary School children and their dog, Snoopy, in a series of vignettes that reveal much about their lives and relationships.

SALLY BROWN - Charlie’s younger sister and vacillates between nasty and nice to him.

LUCY VAN PELT - The bully of the piece. Wants to become queen Lucy.

SNOOPY - Snoopy displays his dreams of grandeur in the melodramatic Red Baron number, then celebrates extravagantly in Suppertime when Charlie Brown

SCHROEDER - A mini-musical prodigy always playing Beethoven on his toy piano.

CHARLIE BROWN - Charlie suffers humorously from a terrible inferiority complex.

LINUS VAN PELT - Carries his security blanket and tries to stay out of the way of his domineering sister Lucy.
