CPBI is a month-long residency as part of FestivalSouth, a multi-genre arts festival in Southern Mississippi. It features three levels of instruction with limited enrollment for extensive individual instruction. The Artist Studio, for the emerging professional, will be composed of those cast in leading and secondary roles in the festival production of Hairspray, directed by Mulholland with music direction by Vukovich and choreography by Brezeale. Those selected for this level will also have the opportunity to be a part of the pre-Broadway workshop of Lincoln’s Calixte.

The program will also include voice instruction, master classes, seminars in voice and acting for professionals and group vocal, acting and dance coaching. The Apprentice Studio, for the exception high school and collegiate singing actors, will be composed of cast members of Hairspray and will have featured performance opportunities in FestivalSouth cabarets. They will also receive vocal, acting and dance coaching as well as specialized seminars in audition preparation. The Music Director Apprenticeship, for pianists who aspire to be music directors and coaches, will work with Broadway music director Vukovich to hone skills and perform along with him as part of the festival production of Hairspray.
