Breakdown

Seeking the following:

YOUNG PERICLES AND OTHERS:
Male, any ethnicity, in his 20s or appears to be, actor/singer, tenor or bari-tenor. Our young hero, handsome if slightly goofy, full of hope and fervor and a relentless desire to do well in the world! Actor needs to have the ability to make this essential quality both deeply moving and often hilarious.

ANTIOCHUS, SIMONIDES AND OTHERS:
Male, any ethnicity, young side of middle age, character actor/singer, dark voiced baritone or even bass. An intensely commanding performer who can play evil kings and then nutty hippies and then malaprop fisherman. A highly transformative actor with a dark comic center.

HELICANUS, THALIARD AND OTHERS:
Male, any ethnicity, young side of middle-age, character actor/singer, tenor with possible falsetto. A provocative, sometimes fragile-seeming, sometimes terrifying actor with an ability to slip with ease in and out of drag and vocally in and out of falsetto. Not ambi-sexual so much as omni-sexual.

DIONYSIA, GODDESS DIANA AND OTHERS:
Female, any ethnicity, young side of middle-age, character actress/singer, operatic soprano with a belt. Earthy, but neurotic classic trashy blonde (or that feeling) the actress should be utterly comfortable with extreme, over-the-top: spoken and musically vocalized characterizations.

BAWD, CEREMON AND OTHERS:
Female, any ethnicity, young side of middle age, character actress/singer, dark-voiced mezzo with a belt. Somewhat more grounded, less flighty but just as vehemently transformative actress, must have a kind of earthy center- her big central role is the Bawd (a Madame).

MARINA, THAISA AND OTHERS:
Female, any ethnicity, in her 20s or appears to be, ingenue actress/singer. This actress should have a glow about her, ability to project an almost magical forthright sincerity as Marina and the comical version of that as Thaisa. At ease being either strong or ditsy
