RUTH
(Female, 30’s) A smart looking woman on her second marriage. She has never been a passionate woman and keeps her feelings well-moderated until the events of the play push her to her limit and she explodes with all the scorn, anger, and jealousy she has repressed her whole life.
ELVIRA
(Female, 30’s) The ghost of Charles Condomine’s first wife, who has returned from the beyond, seemingly to torment Ruth and get Charles to herself again. She is charming, flirtatious and witty. A woman who knows how to use her assets to her advantage. She is mid-thirties but seems younger, sexier and much more attractive than Ruth.
