PEOPLE reports that international singing star Ricky Martin will present Rita Moreno with People En Español's lifetime achievement award in the arts this May. The 82-year-old Broadway vet, well known for her Oscar-winning performance in West Side Story, has had a career spanning 60 years.

"Rita Moreno is part of our history at People En Español," says the magazine's editor, Armando Correa. "This year we dedicated our '50 Most Beautiful' issue to a new generation of entertainers, a generation that would not be where it is today had it not been for all the barriers that Rita Moreno had broken down in her own stellar, six-decade long career."

People En Espanol's "50 Most Beautiful" issue, featuring Moreno, will hit newstands on May 2.

About Rita Moreno:

Moreno is one of the few performers ever to have earned an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony. She won an Oscar for her portrayal of 'Anita' in the film adaptation of West Side Story.

She will next be seen on the big screen in Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks. She has appeared on television in Happily Divorced, Cane, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Ugly Betty, Wanted, The Guardian, Oz and more.

Moreno has starred on Broadway in The Odd Couple, Wally's Cafe, The Ritz -- for which she won a 1975 Tony Award -- The National Health, Gantry, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window and Skydrift, as well as She Loves Me in the West End.
