A new trailer has arrived for BLACK IS THE COLOR OF MY VOICE, offering audiences their first sustained look at the production ahead of its upcoming West End engagement. The footage was released through Official London Theatre as part of the campaign to build anticipation for the 2026 run.

The piece centers on a celebrated singer and civil rights activist who confronts grief and seeks redemption following the sudden death of her father — a narrative drawn from the life and legacy of Nina Simone. Written and performed by Apphia Campbell, the one-woman show weaves Simone's most enduring songs into a live theatrical experience, blending autobiography, music, and political history into a single sustained performance. The production earned the Best Theatre Award at the Adelaide Fringe in 2024, a recognition that helped fuel its growing international profile.

The West End run marks a significant milestone for a show that has built its reputation through festival appearances and touring engagements. BLACK IS THE COLOR OF MY VOICE is currently making its way through a UK Tour, with dates continuing into the summer before the London engagement takes shape.

Campbell has also brought the show to American audiences in recent years, including a presentation at Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe in Sarasota, underscoring the production's reach well beyond its festival origins.
