When Edgar Allan Poe and HP Lovecraft heard that playwright Eric Sanders was adapting fellow horror writer Algernon Blackwood's supernatural tale, THE WENDIGO for the stage, they just had to come back from beyond the grave to see it. Thanks to the magic and mystery of Friday the 13th, they can! Following the 8pm performance of THE WENDIGO on Friday, February 13, classic horror writers Edgar Allan Poe and HP Lovecraft will be joining playwright Eric Sanders and Director Matthew Hancock for a special after show talkback with the audience. Mr. Poe will also be doing a special reading of his beloved classic 'The Raven' and Mr. Lovecraft will be reading his well-known story 'The Outsider'. Come get your picture taken with two of the all-time finest authors of supernatural fiction!

Famed Broadway Costumer Florence Klotz's Tony Award for Sale on eBay

The New York Times is reporting that famed Costume Designer Florence Klotz's Tony Award is for sale on eBay, the starting bid for the trophy at $10,000 (with an option to buy it outright for $20,000). But the Times has a huge inaccuracy in the piece, as they describe Ms. Klotz herself as posting the auction, which is fairly impossible as she sadly passed away in 2006.

Marni Nixon Replaces Ailing Howes in Encores! MUSIC IN THE AIR

Marni Nixon has joined the upcoming Encores! presentation of Music in the Air, she replaces Sally Ann Howes who had to drop out due to an illness. Marni Nixon, is known in the popular world as the singing voice behind the stars of West Side Story, The King and I and My Fair Lady. An accomplished singer in her own right, she has has sung opera, classical song and appeared on Broadway. Ms. Nixon worked with Lehmann in a production of Ariadne auf Naxos at the Music Academy of the West and considered her a friend. Besides her singing career, Marni Nixon is also an actress, recently nominated for an Ovation award. She gives master clases throughout the country in musical theater and classical song. She was last seen on Broadway in NINE and The Dead. Music in the Air, a rarely seen 1932 musical, will be directed by Gary Griffin with music direction by Rob Berman and choreography by Michael Lichtefeld. The production runs for five performances at City Center, West 55th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues). Production dates are February 5th through the 8th.

Barrington Stage Company Announces 2009 15th Anniversary Season

Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Richard M. Parison, Jr., Producing Director, announce the theatre?s 15th Anniversary Season. Opening on the Mainstage will be Rodgers and Hammerstein?s musical masterpiece Carousel from June 17 through July 11. BSC will present its first thriller, the Tony Award-winning play Sleuth by Anthony Shaffer, from July 16 through August 1. Tennessee Williams? landmark play A Streetcar Named Desire will conclude the Mainstage summer season from August 6 through 29. The Mainstage fall show will be announced at a later date. On Stage 2, receiving its world premiere is Mark St. Germain?s Freud?s Last Session from June 10 through 28. Glen Berger?s hit Off-Broadway play Underneath the Lintel will play on Stage 2 from July 8 though 26.
