Arden Theatre Company kicks off its 2009/10 season with the Philadelphia premiere of The History Boys, Alan Bennett's international hit that explores the anarchy of adolescence and the purpose of education. The History Boys previews begin on Thursday, September 24. Opening night is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 30. The production runs through November 1.

California International Theatre Festival 2009 season is presented by the City of Calabasas with Linda Purl as Festival Director, M. Edgar Rosenblum as Executive Director and Joe Peracchio as Festival Producer.

Stephen Sachs will direct the Los Angeles premiere of Shining City, a modern-day ghost story from one of Ireland's most important young playwrights, Conor McPherson. Called 'an absolutely glorious new play... as close to perfection as contemporary playwriting gets' by The New York Times, Shining City will star Morlan Higgins, William Dennis Hurley, Kerrie Blaisdell and Benjamin Keepers. Performances take place September 19 through December 19 at The Fountain Theatre, with low-priced previews beginning September 12.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) will launch its 31st season this fall with the New York premiere of Anna Deavere Smith's LET ME DOWN EASY. Conceived, written, and performed by Ms. Smith and directed by Leonard Foglia, LET ME DOWN EASY will begin preview performances on Tuesday, September 15 and will officially open on Wednesday, October 7 at 6:45pm.

The unified curtain time of 7:30 PM for all evening performances will continue in addition to 2 PM matinees. A Christmas Carol will follow this schedule with the exception of Sundays, when performances will occur at noon and 5 PM.

SPF:3 -'Apply liberally' is Seattle's third annual solo performance theatre festival, and is dedicated to presenting fearless, cutting-edge, diverse performances by solo artists.
