Broadway's N'kenge Joins Maestro Jack Everly And BSO Pops In CIRQUE GOES HOLLYWOOD

Known for her powerful and riveting vocals, Symphony Siren and Broadway Diva N'Kenge (Motown: The Musical, Sondheim and Sondheim) joins the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jack Everly.  N'Kenge will be joined by vocalist Ron Remke and Troupe Vertigo in this dazzling evening of acrobats and show-stopping numbers. Thursday - Saturday,  April 4th - April 6th (8:00 p.m.) and Sunday, April 7th at (3:00 p.m.)

The 26th annual edition of Gypsy of the Year raised a record-breaking $5,229,611 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, thanks to six weeks of fundraising by 64 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies. The grand total was announced Tuesday, December 9, 2014, by special guests Hugh Jackman, Nathan Lane and Judith Light after two stellar performances of original dances, songs and skits by more than 200 'gypsies' from Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. The Broadway revival of Horton Foote's beloved classic, The Trip to Bountiful, opened last night, April 23, at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 W 43rd St).Directed by Michael Wilson, the cast features Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award-winning actress Cicely Tyson, Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding, Jr, Emmy Award nominee and recording star Vanessa Williams, and Tony Award nominee Condola Rashad. No tickets are required for the event, which will begin immediately following that evening's performance of DAMN YANKEES (now starring Andre DE Sheilds, Austin Miller and Jessica Lee Goldyn). Audience members just attending the Iconis concert are encouraged to arrive at the theater no later than 11:00pm.

The 54th Annual Drama Desk Awards were held tonight, Sunday, May 17, 2009 in the LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center. Drama Desk nominees received their official Nomination Certificates at a cocktail reception on Friday, May 1st at Il Bastardo restaurant, 191 Seventh Avenue (between 21st and 22nd Streets).
