Tony-Winning HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH Recoups Broadway Capitalization!

Producer David Binder just announced that the critically acclaimed Broadway revival of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, which last month received four Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, has recouped its initial capitalization investment as of the week ending Sunday, July 13.

Tony nominee Andrew Rannells will soon succeed Neil Patrick Harris in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway. Rannells, who is contracted for an eight week run, will take on the title role beginning August 20, after Harris departs on August 17.
HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH was originally produced by David Binder off off Broadway at Westbeth and then, under the direction of Peter Askin, ran over two years at the Jane Street Theatre beginning in February 1998. The musical won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical and both John Cameron Mitchell andStephen Trask won Obies in 2001. It won a 1998 New York Magazine Award and Entertainment Weekly's 'Soundtrack of the Year' Award. Time Magazine named HEDWIG the Top Musical of 1998.

Duncan Sheik Kicks Off Northeast Tour Today

Grammy and Tony award winning musician Duncan Sheik has confirmed a select number of East Coast tour dates. He will be performing from his extensive catalogue including songs from his back catalogue as well as this latest theatre works, Spring Awakening and American Psycho. In 2013-2014 Sheik spent time at Sneaky Studios in Garrison, NY recording his first album of orginal material (not related to a theatre production) since 2006's White Limousine. The album is due out early 2015.

'Internationally ignored song stylist' Hedwig Robinson (Neil Patrick Harris) brings her fourth-wall-smashing rock 'n' roll saga to New York to set the record straight about her life, her loves and the botched operation that left her with that 'angry inch.' Kevin Adams won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Lighting Design of a Musical for HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH. This is Kevin Adams's sixth Tony nomination. He won Tony Awards for his lighting designs of Spring Awakening (2007), The 39 Steps (2008), and American Idiot (2010).

Atlantic Records will release the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the most nominated musical revival of the season, featuring Tony Award nominees Neil Patrick Harris and Lena Hall. The album is produced by HEDWIG composer Stephen Trask, Tony Award nominated sound designer and platinum-selling record producer Tim O'Heir, and the production's music director Justin Craig. The album is executive produced by Elie Landau and David Binder.
