El Rey Acquires Rights to MIAMI VICE

El Rey Network has acquired the rights from NBCUniversal Television & New Media Distribution to air all 111 episodes of the Emmy Award(R) winning series 'Miami Vice' it was announced today. From Emmy Award(R)-winning and Academy Award(R)-nominated writer-producer Michael Mann, the series, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this fall, became appointment viewing on Friday nights and launched a national fashion trend inspired by the cool whites and colorful pastels worn by lead characters, Detectives James Crockett (Don Johnson) and Ricardo Tubbs (Philip Michael Thomas).

QUIET RAGE, GENTLE WAIL Now On View at Phoenix Art Museum

The Quiet Rage, Gentle Wail: Prints and Masks of Japanese Noh Theatre exhibition is on view at Phoenix Art Museum until November 16 and explores Noh, the traditional Japanese theatre form that incorporates music, dance and drama. Noh theatre was established in the 14th century and its dramas explore profound human emotions through subtle and symbolic performances that tell stories adopted from well-known myths, historical events and classical literatures. On display are 22 Noh masks, a pair of two-panel screens and 38 prints that depict Noh actors on stage.

Mitsui Fudosan America Opens Tom Judd Exhibition Today

Mitsui Fudosan America, Inc. (MFA) www.mfamerica.com, the U.S. affiliate of Japan's largest real estate company, announced today that 527 Madison Avenue will hold its second exhibition of contemporary art as part of its emerging artists series. Paintings by Tom Judd will be on display from today, July 9 - November 7, 2014. One monumental-sized work and 6 additional paintings by Judd will be on view in the lobby of the building, located at 54th Street and Madison Avenue, which is accessible to the public from 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival 2014 Week Three to Feature Beethoven, Gluck, Handel, Mozart and More

The third week of this summer's Mostly Mozart Festival, New York's acclaimed annual summer celebration of classical music, kicks off with a pair of all-Beethoven concerts by the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra leading one of the great works in the classical repertoire, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, August 12 and 13, at Avery Fisher Hall. Conducting this large-scale choral work is Gianandrea Noseda, featured at Mostly Mozart for a second consecutive summer following his debut last summer leading Rossini's Stabat mater. Singers for the performance include soprano Erika Grimaldi (U.S. debut), mezzo-sopranoAnna Maria Chiuri (Mostly Mozart debut), tenor Gregory Kunde, and bass Ildar Abdrazakov (Mostly Mozart debut). TheConcert Chorale of New York, directed by James Bagwell, will accompany the Festival Orchestra and soloists. The Festival Orchestra will also perform Beethoven's Overture to The Consecration of the House, Op. 124, to open the concerts. Additionally, the Amphion String Quartet will perform Barber's String Quartet, No. 11 in a pre-concert recital.

Skyline StageWorks to Present SHAKESPEARE'S ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA: UNDONE, Begin. 9/5

One of literature's greatest epic love stories and struggle for world domination is distilled into a brisk, eighty-minute thrill ride of passion, power plays, deception, and death. Skyline StageWorks announces its inaugural production, the world premiere of Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra: UNDONE opening Sept 5th at the Side Project space. Shakespeare's original script has been dissembled and rebuilt into a stand-alone version to allow a more intimate psychological exploration of the twin protagonists. Selected highlights of the play's poetry encapsulate the humor, humanity, and allure of these quasi-mythological characters.

THE MAGIC FLUTE, MACBETH, CATO IN UTICA and CANDIDE Set for the 2015 Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown

The Glimmerglass Festival has announced its 2015 Festival, which will celebrate the company's 40th anniversary. The 2015 Festival will feature Mozart's The Magic Flute, Verdi's Macbeth, Vivaldi's Cato in Utica and Bernstein's Candide. The productions will run in repertory in the Alice Busch Opera Theater on Otsego Lake in Cooperstown July 10 through August 23. These mainstage offerings will be complemented by lectures, concerts and other special events.

THE LONG SHRIFT, Directed by James Franco, Begins Tonight at Rattlestick

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long previously announced that the World Premiere of The Long Shrift, written by Robert Boswell and directed by James Franco, would begin previews tonight, July 7th, 2014. The official opening night is set for July 13th, 2014 and closing night is August 23rd, 2014.
