Whatsonstage.com reports that the anticipated Tori Amos/Samuel Adamson musical recently received a workshop at the National Theatre, directed by Marianne Elliott. The source material is 'The Light Princess' by George MacDonald, a fairy tale released in 1864. According to the site, 'puppetry was one of the focal points of exploration.' Puppetry is something Elliott is all too familiar with, having previously co-directed WAR HORSE at the National in 2007. Whatsonstage reports that the musical will see a world premiere at the Lyttelton Theatre in 2012.
Yesterday, June 1, Marina Abramovic closed her 'The Artist is Present' exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The Theatre?s 42nd season also includes a West Coast premiere by Tony Kushner, the Bay Area?s introduction to Aurélia?s Oratorio, and two plays to be named at a later date.
