Disney's Beauty and the Beast, the award-winning worldwide smash hit Broadway musical, is coming to San Diego as part of the Broadway/San Diego/ A Nederlander Presentation 2010-2011 Season.

Producers Whoopi Goldberg and Stage Entertainment announced today that the new Broadway musical, SISTER ACT, will play the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) this spring. Preview performances are scheduled to begin on March 24, 2011. Opening night is confirmed for Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Casting and on sale date will be announced shortly.

'Leap of Faith' opened at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre at the Los Angeles Music Center on October 3. Whoopi Goldberg will rejoin the cast of the hit musical comedy SISTER ACT in October to complete her run as Mother Superior. She will perform the role on the evening of Friday 22 October, at two shows on Saturday 23 October and at two shows on Monday 25 October. Whoopi's previous run, her West End debut, was a huge critical success and saw fans camping overnight at the box office and daily queues around the block at the London Palladium for tickets. During Whoopi's run Sister Act also broke the record for the highest weekly gross of any musical ever at the Palladium. She was unable to complete that run, which was to end on August 31, when she had to return to the USA due to a family emergency.

According to a report by Whatsonstage.com, Sally Dexter is set to replace Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Superior in the West End production of SISTER ACT. Dexter will be staying with the show until it closes on October 30.

Jane Krakowski, the Tony Award winning Broadway star of Nine and Damn Yankees and the Emmy Award nominated star of '30 Rock' and 'Ally McBeal,' celebrated the release of her delightfully sexy debut album, The Laziest Gal In Town with an in-store CD signing and performance at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Center (1972 Broadway at 66th Street) yesterday July 13, 2010.
