When asked how he got Grammy-winning legends George Benson and David Sanborn to perform on his new single, “Stay,” keyboardist David Garfield responds dryly with a gleeful grin, “You ask them.” The third single from Garfield's forthcoming “Jammin' Outside the Box” album is a remake of the Rufus classic featuring the vintage R&B-funk band's former drummerMoon Calhoun singing lead on the song he wrote with Chaka Khan. “Stay” goes for radio adds on June 11 and drops digitally fromCreatchy Records on June 15.    

The New Group celebrated Opening Night of Lily Thorne's Peace for Mary Frances last night, with Heather Burns, Johanna Day, Natalie Gold, Mia Katigbak, Paul Lazar, Brian Miskell, Melle Powers, Lois Smith and J. Smith-Cameron, in a world premiere production directed by Lila Neugebauer. A limited Off-Broadway engagement is slated through June 17 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).

 Dolby Cinema at AMC, the total cinema experience, is now available to more movie-going fans than ever, as AMC Theatres (NYSE:AMC) and Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) celebrate the 100th Dolby Cinema at AMC location opening at AMC Loews 34th Street 14 in New York City. As a testament to the rapid growth of Dolby Cinema across the United States, the 100th site is being opened just three years after the first. The original agreement, reached in 2015, was for 100 auditoriums over a 10-year deployment.

On Sunday night, the deafening cheers said it all. As Northwest School of the Arts junior Rixey Terry walked across the stage to accept his award for Best Supporting Actor in the musical "Big Fish," all he could focus on was the electric blue seats sparkling under the house lights in the Blumenthal Theatre.

Based on Alison Bechdel's graphic novel depicting of her childhood and coming of age, including most prominently, her realization of her sexuality and complicated relationship with her gay father, Fun Home currently finds itself in the capable hands of Memphis's Playhouse on the Square.
