The seven-member cast featuresAndrea Burns, Wally Dunn, Darius de Haas, Alexander Gemignani, Jessica Grové and Joe Ricci. Angela DeCicco replaces previously announced Andrea Bianchi.

York Theatre Company launched its new "New2NY" series last weekend with a concert presentation and New York premiere of the musical Jack: A Musical Drama on the Life of John F. Kennedy, with book and lyrics by Tom Sawyer and Will Holt, music by Will Holt, and based on a an original concept by Tom Sawyer. As previously announced, the York Theatre Company will present the New York premiere of two musicals: a 'New2NY' concert presentation of Jack: A Musical Drama on the Life of John F. Kennedy, and a Developmental Lab presentation of Buddy's Tavern, with book by Raymond De Felitta, music by Kim Oler, and lyrics by Alison Hubbard at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Miles Aubrey (Jersey Boys, Ring of Fire), Jessica Grove (A Little Night Music, Thoroughly Modern Millie) and Lora Lee Gayer (Follies) will perform The Music of Kevin Fogarty and Chris Rayis in a one-night-only concert.

Columbus Children's Theatre (CCT) celebrated 50 years of live theatre on Sunday, September 22, 2013 with an incredible lineup of accomplished alumni, along with current casts, board members, and other featured guests. Performing were Josh Radnor of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, Jessica Grove, Mike Milligan, Steve Boyer, Kristin Reitter, Valerie Accetta, Dionysia Williams, Camille Mancuso, Cherish Myers, Ryan Scarlata, Molly Camp, Jake Borelli, and the current casts of THE LITTLE MERMAID JR and SHREK THE MUSICAL.

Paper Mill Playhouse is in New Jersey close to a nature reserve and that means CIDADAS. The first time I heard them I thought it was someone's house alarm going off…and then I saw them…squashed along the entire path from the theatre to downtown Millburn. Then, while I was minding my own business., standing outside the stage door before the matinee on Thursday, enjoying a delicious chocolate croissant and iced coffee, I see an enormous, LIVING cicada making himself at home on my leg. I screamed….and I screamed…and then I screamed some more, until sweet Ron Wisniski helped me out and got the darn thing to release and go about its cicada day.

People are always asking me, how do you balance rehearsing, performing, auditioning and mommy-ing. All I can say is, it truly takes a village.

Hello! This is my first entry as a guest blogger for Broadway World. I am excited to be here and to give you a little glimpse into the beautiful production of Disney's The Little Mermaid in which I currently have the pleasure of playing Ariel! As a child, growing up in Columbus, Ohio, I constantly sang music from the animated film around the house and in the summer pretended to be Ariel in my family's pool, so you can imagine that this is a very big deal for the kid in me! And as for the adult Jessica, it's pretty awesome too.

By Disney standards the year and a half run of the original Broadway production of The Little Mermaid was a bit of a disappointment.  In theory, a competently created musical based on the hit animated film would probably run for a year and a half based on the title recognition alone.  My opinion of that show was higher than most of my colleagues.  I enjoyed it, but mostly for the vaudevillian pleasure of seeing a cast of terrific Broadway performers each getting a star turn or two.  But after some script revisions and a whole new visual concept, director Glenn Casale's production of the new Mermaid that just opened at Paper Mill is a well-crafted, delightfully designed and performed charmer.
