Artistic Director Robert Falls announced today the final production of Goodman Theatre's 2009/2010 season-The Good Negro, Tracey Scott Wilson's 'thunderous...stunning' (Variety) new play, comes to Chicago fresh from its off-Broadway run at The Public Theater. Resident Director Chuck Smith, who previously collaborated with Wilson on the Goodman's 2004/2005 Chicago-premiere production of The Story, will direct The Good Negro in the Albert Theatre in Spring 2010.

Artistic Director Robert Falls announces an unprecedented creative partnership with Austria's 'Linz 2009 European Capital of Culture,' advancing his focus on international programming for Goodman Theatre. The Goodman and 'Linz09'?a year-long festival devoted to projects in all cultural disciplines?will share Joan Dark, created and directed by emerging Bosnian director Aida Karic with Goodman Literary Manager Tanya Palmer. A new adaptation of the story of Joan of Arc involving live music and movement, Joan Dark originates in Austria in a one-week June 17-20 engagement at 'Linz09' and makes its U.S. premiere at Goodman Theatre September 11 ? Walter, who won the 2005 Evening Standard Award for Best Actress for her performance, is returning to Broadway for the first time since the Royal Shakespeare Company's All's Well That Ends Well in 1983. The first Broadway production of MARY STUART in almost 40 years will be produced by Arielle Tepper Madover, Debra Black, David Binder, Scott M. Delman, Neal Street Productions, Matthew Byam Shaw and Barbara Whitman, Michael Grandage, Artistic Director of the Donmar said, 'I am thrilled we are bringing our work to Broadway again.
