Silver Spring Stage Presents 2013 One-Act Festival 8/8-8/25

Silver Spring Stage presents 2013 One-Act Festival, an exciting collection of one-act plays, all unpublished, many by local playwrights. Each weekend features different plays that showcase humor and passion. The festival producers are Pam Burks, Jacy D'Aiutolo and Bob Scott. The 2013 One-Act Festival will perform weekends August 8 to 25. 2013 One Act Festival Silver Spring Stage is located in the Woodmoor Shopping Center, lower level (next to the CVS) at Colesville Road and University Boulevard. Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $18 for seniors and students. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased at www.ssstage.org. Moon [Drama] St. Brendan's Last Voyage, by John Byrne [Comedy] Silver Spring Stage continues its 2013-2014 season with The Baltimore Waltz (Sept 20-Oct 12), Pillowman (Nov 1-23), A Christmas Carol (Dec 13-22), The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged (Jan 10-Feb 1), Superior Donuts (Feb 21-Mar 15), Other Desert Cities (Apr 4-27), Arabian Nights (May 16-Jun 7) and Good People* (Jun 27-July 20). *Pending rights availability. Silver Spring Stage Presents FROST/NIXON, Opening 4/5

Silver Spring Stage presents Frost/Nixon by Peter Morgan, directed by Kevin O'Connell and produced by Devon Seybert, the engrossing dramatization of how the then-washed up talk-show host David Frost convinced the disgraced Richard Nixon to be interviewed for television. Frost/Nixon will perform weekends April 5 to April 27. Silver Spring Stage is excited to announce that Jim Reston, one of the team members that prepared David Frost for the historic Frost/Nixon interviews, will participate in a post-performance discussion on Sunday April 21.

Silver Spring Stage Presents 'The Last Days of Judas Iscariot,' 10/28-11/19

Silver Spring Stage presents The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis, directed by Guillaume Tourniaire and produced by Seth Ghitelman. Set in a darkly comic world between heaven and hell, a court case examines the plight and fate of the New Testament's most infamous and unexplained sinner. The Last Days of Judas Iscariot will perform weekends October 28 to November 19.

Mobtown Playwrights Group Announces 2011–2012 Season

Over six weekends last season, the Mobtown Playwrights Group staged readings of three new plays by writers from Baltimore, Frederick, and the Eastern Shore, including Jessica McHugh, whose dark comedy Fools Call It Fate received a complete production at the Mobtown Theatre this summer.
