The Drafts Fest is the collaborative effort of seven playwrights, seven directors, and ten multifaceted actors. Playwrights receive randomly compiled cast lists and create stories tailored to The Drafts and their invited Guests based on this year's theme, Pre-Existing Condition.

The Alliance Theatre will present two days of readings from the finalists of the Kendeda Graduate Playwriting Awards. The readings, taking place February 1st and 2nd, will feature two plays a day and will be free to the public. The Purple Rose Theatre Company is proud to announce several selections for its 2009 / 2010 season beginning in September 2009. The season will feature Escanaba, a World Premiere by Jeff Daniels; Gravity, a World Premiere by David MacGregor; and Our Town, an American classic by Thornton Wilder.
Marc (Marco Formosa), an American scholar in Berlin, uncovers the dangerous equation behind his attraction to the great German dramatist Heinrich von Kleist, who died in 1811 in a notorious double suicide. Konrad (Nate Faust), from whom he is letting a room, offers Marc help in understanding his attraction to Kleist and opens up a disturbing confrontation with identity. Konrad's girlfriend Mina (Ji-Hye Kwon) is pulled into the vortex of their discovery. The life of Kleist (David Marshall) finds its eerie parallels in Marc's awakening.
