BREAKDOWN

Corey Everett Just - 18+ to play 13, Black, Brainy, headstrong, idealistic, creative, passionate, leader of this trio; mother is a microbiologist and father is a computational biologist. Vocal range: Tenor (D3 to top A), Pop/Rock (think Bruno Mars and Katy Perry)

Corey’s Mom - 42, Black, often distant, laser-focused on her career, but ever vigilant, very tender and protective of her kin. Vocal range: Mezzo/Belt (Ab to D belt, head voice to E) (Think Aretha Franklin/Patti Labelle/Tina Turner)

Dakota Glover Johnson: OFFER OUT ON THIS ROLE. 18+ to play 13, Black, whip-smart, radical, progressive, big picture thinker, soul of the group; the daughter of a queer couple, one father is leading molecular biologist and the other is a biochemist turned stem-cell researcher. Vocal range: Alto/Belt (G to C, belt Eb mix).

Dimitri Glover Johnson: OFFER OUT ON THIS ROLE. 18+ to play 13, Black, smart alec, pessimistic, objective, rational, what he lacks he makes up for in acumen; Dakota’s twin brother. Vocal range: Tenor (C to Gb).

Newscaster: OFFER OUT ON THIS ROLE. 28, investigative, analytical, somewhat empathic; a young, ambitious field reporter for a local news station. Vocal range: Mezzo/Belt (D to mix belt D).
