BREAKDOWN

Deer

by Aaron Mark

Ken and Cynthia have been married for thirty years. Ken and Cynthia drive to their vacation home for the weekend. Ken and Cynthia hit a deer. Ken seriously just wants to spend the weekend alone with this wife, but Cynthia seriously will not abandon their lifeless, bloody new pet. As the carcass begins to take over their lives, secrets surface, sanity slips, and someone may not be quite as dead as they should be.

> Cynthia - fifties, A nurturer and public school counselor, really trying her best to keep it all together - it’s not going well. Desperate, but always hopeful.

> Ken - fifties/sixties, Her husband, a novelist, who loves her to pieces - but he’s totally losing control. Hasty and a bit oblivious, but always well-intentioned.
