The State Ballet of Russia performed SWAN LAKE beautifully at The Hershey Theatre on January 27, 2017. Now under the General Direction of Nickolay Anokhin, and Artistic Direction of Anatoly Emelianov, the production is touring the United States.

A ballet performed in two Acts, SWAN LAKE is based on the book THE NUTCRACKER AND THE MOUSE KING by E.T.A. Hoffman. Russian composer, Pyotr Tchaikovsky wrote the music for the ballet during the early 1890's, with the first performance taking place in Russia in 1892.

The choreography by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, with revised choreography by Konstantin Sergeyev, is fantastical and breathtaking. The scenery and costumes are a kaleidoscope of beautiful colors and artistry.

The State Ballet of Russia will perform SWAN LAKE next on Friday, February 10, and Saturday, February 11 at 7:30 p.m., at The Hippodrome Performing Arts Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Tickets can be purchased by visiting The Hippodrome at www.france-merrickpac.com or by calling, 800.982.2787.
