UM School of Theatre & Dance to Present DANCE IN CONCERT, 3/19-22
Ballet will once again grace the UM Montana Theatre stage when the School of Theatre & Dance produces the entire second act of one of ballet's most well-known classics-Swan Lake. Complete with Tchaikovsky's haunting score, the piece has been re-staged by Associate Professor Michele Antonioli with a scenic backdrop designed by Professor Alessia Carpoca, and costumes provided through a fundraising campaign. Dance majors Jessie Lesar and Jaime Curtin will dance the roles of Odette and Siegfried in this iconic love story.
Visiting Assistant Professor and Artistic Director of Missoula's Bare Bait Dance Company, Joy French, presents an excerpt of her highly acclaimed collaboration with the UM School of Music, The Legend of Orpheus. Associate Professor Heidi Jones Eggert and dance major Jordan Freeman present Cadence: a high energy contemporary blend of hip hop, dynamic modern dance, and live percussion. Missoula audiences will be gifted with a rare treat as UM Dance faculty Nicole Bradley Browning and Heidi Jones Eggert perform 38, choreographed by dance program alumni Allison Herther. Don't miss this unique opportunity to see these professional dancers and colleagues perform together for the first time in Montana. Jes Mullette, UM Dance Program guest faculty, created The Enduring Season, originally crafted for Missoula's Bare Bait Dance Company. We are pleased to present this complex distillation of the beauty and stark realities of Montana winters performed by Bare Bait Dance company members. Presented in the beautiful Montana Theatre, this breathtaking accumulation of work by guest artists, faculty, and students should not be missed!UM School of Theatre & Dance
