Things are heating up for the AC Ballet since for the first time in three decades the Atlantic City Ballet will actually be in Atlantic City for the summer. After years of having a season that spanned September to June, the company with its new rehearsal and performance home in AC have officially moved their season to take advantage of all the summer visitors. July 29th will kick off their 32nd season with their Up Close and Personal series, that give visitors the opportunity to learn about ballet and have a chance to meet the director and the dancers. July 31st begins Ballet on the Boardwalk. These free to the public performances, which take place right on the boardwalk at Kennedy Plaza, are sponsored by the CRDA and will showcase ballets not normally seen in their regular season. The opportunity to be seen in the summer is very important to the company's overall marketing plan. Now that they finally have a home in the city they need to let people know they are here. These performances are an opportunity to make the company more visible to the public. "We want people to stop saying, I didn't know Atlantic City had a professional ballet company" says Marketing Manager, Alexandria Pieroni. "And we want them to start saying, Let's go into the city and get tickets to the ballet". These performances are just a prelude to what's in store when the regular season begins August 16th at The Celebrity Theater in the Claridge. Every month will feature a different ballet with two the month of August. And as promised live music will be added to some of them. The ballet will offer a regular subscription for all their shows and a Mini subscription where you can pick any 3 shows. Both subscriptions will have discounted ticket prices. There will also be discounts for groups of 10 or more. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster, the Celebrity Theater box office and the Atlantic City Ballet web site.
