The Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre Announces New Pre-Professional Dance Program

Nevada Ballet Theatre (NBT) and its affiliated Academy, the Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre (ANBT) is pleased to announce an exciting new addition to its Las Vegas-based school at 1651 Inner Circle in Summerlin. Joining its already established Pre-Professional Ballet Program, the all new Pre-Professional Dance Program will offer cutting-edge classes such as Tumbling for Dance, Extreme Stretch and Improvisation among others, taught by performers with Broadway, TV and film credits and international teaching experience. The new Pre-Professional Dance Program will also premiere the ANBT Competition Team, designed for students who wish to explore a commercial dance path.

Fall classes for all students are taking place now and auditions for the ANBT Competition Team take place on Saturday, September 13 at 3:30 pm

"This is an exciting time for our organization as we encourage the growth of our Academy," said NBT Executive Director & CEO Beth Barbre. "Our goal is to provide all ANBT students with an outstanding performing arts education and provide them with the necessary tools to pursue a career in dance or develop a life-long love of our art form."

ANBT's roster of reputable dance instructors consists of local performers from the Las Vegas entertainment community including former So You Think You Can Dance contestant Tyrell Rolle and Cirque du Soleil Performer Jordan McHenry as well as formerCirque du Soleil Artists Pendu Malik and Jarrett Rashad and Jubilee Performers Crystal Danzer and Jamie Santangelo. Special dance lectures, important industry workshops and master classes are planned for the coming 2014-2015 Season for students of both the Pre-Professional Dance Program and the Pre-Professional Ballet Program.

"With ballet as our base, ANBT will offer a diversified dance program that will serve the needs of Las Vegas area students who seek an entertainment-based dance career as well as those who simply want to improve their skills, increase their fitness and have fun," said NBT Director of Education and Outreach/Head of the Pre-Professional Dance Program, Terané Comito. "Through the ANBT competition team, students will receive the necessary preparation and competitive edge needed for a possible career in film, television or Broadway."

Additionally, ANBT's new Pre-Professional Dance Program will offer new classes for younger children ages 3 - 7 such as Hip-Hop Babies, Hip-Hop Kids and Jazz/Tumbling Combo. ANBT's enhanced Pre-Professional Ballet Program will also provide a diverse range of new offerings including the Children's Division Superstar Package. Greater scheduling flexibility and the opportunity to compete in carefully selected ballet competitions will be offered as well.
