The 9th Annual Seattle International Dance Festival (SIDF), Beyond the Threshold runs June 13-22, 2014 in the vibrant and thriving South Lake Union neighborhood. The festival brings in regional, national and international dance artists and includes the popular Spotlight on Seattle program with three new curators. This ten-day dance explosion fills South Lake Union with free and paid entertainment through their four artistic programs that include: Art on the Fly, The Inter|National Series, Spotlight on Seattle, and Sanity Cafe.

Tickets to paid performances are $20 in advance, $25 at the door(Students/Seniors are $15 in advance $20 at the door). A 2-Show pass is $35 and an All Festival Pass (7 shows) is $50. All details, including performance times, locations and ticketing information are available at www.SeattleIDF.org.

ART ON THE FLY Dusk Dance Party - June 13; 4:30 - 7:30pm
A DJ hosts a very special family friendly outdoor dance party on Van Vorst Plaza

ART ON THE FLY - June 14; 12 - 6pm
Dozens of FREE kid-friendly dance events take over Terry Avenue, surrounding Amazon's Van Vorst Plaza, and turn the Seattle Streetcar stops into a giant "art ride" through South Lake Union. Contemporary dance springs to life in everyday environments with surprise/ roving performances, impromptu dance classes, flash mobs, arts & crafts vendors, music and food.

SPOTLIGHT ON SEATTLE - June 17-19 at 7:30pm
Spotlight on Seattle brings together three dance world icons to curate and express their take on the Seattle dance scene.
June 17 - Andrew Bartee (PNB/Whim W'Him) curates: CabinFever, Colleen McNeary, GenderTender, Kate Wallich and Tyler Wardwell
June 18 - Jerome Aparis (Massive Monkees) curates: 3rd Shift Dance, Coriolis Dance Company, Ktisk Dance, Lillianna Koledin, Marlo Martin/BadMarmar, re:flexion Dance, SkOlds and Suzanna and Friends.
June 19 - KT Niehoff, (Lingo Dance) curates: Bianca Cabrera, Jody Kuehner, Emily Sferra, Molly Sides, Maya Soto, Alia Swersky and Markeith Wiley

SANITY CAFE - June 21, 10pm
A bar somewhere in South Lake Union - bar location announced 24 hours prior
Alcohol served...discussion encouraged. This late evening cabaret-style event serves up a performance with a twist, Up-and-coming, as well as established choreographers will be given one week to choreograph a piece around a theme provided by the opening night's festival audience.
