Medline Hosts Annual Pink Glove Dance Video Competition Today

Get your dancing shoes on, Australia and New Zealand. Medline Industries, Inc., the creator of the international YouTube sensation Pink Glove Dance and makers of the pink exam gloves, announced today its 2013 online competition to find the best Pink Glove Dance video down under beginning today, July 1. This is the third year of the competition in Australia and North America and the second year for New Zealand. This year, the competition will also be held in Europe and Panama for the first time making the pink glove dance truly a world-wide movement.

"The search is on in Australia and New Zealand, and we can't wait to see the videos," said Ian Young Lee, president of the Asia Pacific division for Medline. "The Pink Glove Dance is such a unique campaign for breast cancer awareness, and we're expecting thousands of passionate people from all walks of life to participate in the videos from doctors, nurses and even patients."

One winner will be named in each country as selected by online public voting. The winning video in Australia will receive AUD 10,000 donation in the organization's name from Medline to the breast cancer charity of their choice. REM Systems Limited and Medline are jointly providing the winning New Zealand donation of NZD 10,000 to go towards the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.

The competition starts July 1 and is open to any person or organization within health care who wants to produce and submit their own Pink Glove Dance video. The original Medline Pink Glove Dance video premiered in the United States in November 2009 featuring 200 hospital workers wearing Medline's pink gloves and dancing in support of breast cancer awareness and prevention.
