The Rogue Dancers will open the event followed by a mindfulness journey talk led by Dr. Deepak Kashyap from Mumbai. Camp and Vamp of Spiral Effect will make a surprise appearance to get audience pumped up for the flagging workshop lead by Mykel, creator of Flow and Flair. We will Instagram and Facebook Live the event for our friends in Toronto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington DC and India.

Broadway to Bombay returned from a successful event in Mumbai January 2018 and began as a conversation in 2014 between project creator; Michael (Mykel) Dicus, and his friends Prince Manvendra and Duke Deandre of India. Inside their activism, they chose flagging as a creative way to end LGBTQ stigma and hate in India. Broadway to Bombay's goal is to use "Flag-Dance" in a workshop format to unleash that which cannot be verbalized. Gay Folklore says flagging originated during the height of the AIDS epidemic where individuals out at a club or social event would wave a handkerchief on the dance floor in honor of a person who had died from the disease. Overtime, the dancing and handkerchiefs became colorful fabric of expression and Broadway to Bombay is sharing this piece of gay history now to inspired South Asian members of the LGBTQ community to explore their personal stories and give them a means to express themselves.
