Seattle Men's Chorus (SMC) and Seattle Women's Chorus (SWC) present their annual FREE concert for Seattle-area children and their families. Kids are encouraged to dance and sing along as they experience the thrill of watching a glorious live concert event, with a McCaw Hall audience of thousands, by two of the nation's largest and most respected choruses. SMC and SWC will perform high-energy kid-friendly tunes from the Disney songbook as well as some classics from the 70s rock supergroup, Queen. SMC's ensemble, Captain Smartypants and SWC's ensemble, Sensible Shoes, join in on the fun.

This one-time-only performance is a FREE one-hour matinee today June 20, 2015 at 2pm at Seattle's magnificent McCaw Hall. The Choruses will bring an hour of non-stop music featuring familiar and classic songs that appeal to young and old alike. The performance is pumped full of silly costumes, laughter, and smiles meant to remind audiences that equality and acceptance are important messages to people of all ages. Audience participation is definitely on the menu: everyone leaves with a pack of crayons and coloring book for the trip home.

Artistic Director Dennis Coleman, explained, "I look forward to the annual Children's Concert each year because while we give kids a thrilling concert hall experience and a fun introduction to music, we are also offering a unique opportunity for all families to share a safe, enjoyable performance together."

Prior to the concert there will be FREE 30-minute hands-on workshops, taught by Seattle-area theatre artists. Two concurrent sessions from 1:00-1:30pm and from 1:30-2:00pm are available for kids from K-5th grade. Sessions will be held in McCaw Hall's Norcliffe and Allen event rooms. Reservations are required by calling (206) 388-1400.

The children's concert is presented thanks to the generosity of long-time Chorus supporter Debbie Killinger, as well as our sponsor, Seattle Children's Hospital. Festival seating will be provided.
