On Saturday, April 11 the Princeton Symphony Orchestra will hold its annual gala-A Night in Old Vienna -an elegant affair with flowing champagne, candlelit dining, and dancing at the breathtakingly beautiful Jasna Polana mansion.

PSO Music Director Rossen Milanov will conduct PSO musicians in Strauss waltzes with dancing led by artists from the Pennsylvania Ballet. Antiques Roadshow personality Nicholas Lowry will serve as the evening's auctioneer, tempting guests with exclusive European vacations and summertime destinations. The evening will culminate in more dancing to live jazz and classic swing performed by Lapis Luna.

One of Princeton's most eagerly anticipated evenings, this year's PSO gala will, for the first time, feature its musicians in performance. "Jasna Polana is an inspired setting for our Viennese theme, where we will transport our guests to a more graceful era," says Cynthia Larsen, co-chair of the gala along with Suzanne Suarez. Adds Ms. Suarez, "We're excited about the chance for people to meet PSO musicians and Music Director Rossen Milanov and hear them perform in this uniquely elegant space. Supporting these artists and spotlighting the treasure of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra-it's what it's all about."

The gala underwrites the musical excellence and educational outreach of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra, enabling it to flourish as a professional orchestra of note. The PSO is nationally recognized for its highly accomplished performances and its innovative programming in and out of the concert hall. Showcasing emerging and acclaimed soloists and embracing the music and composers of our time, the PSO performs for a large, devoted audience of passionate listeners. With exceptional commitments to music education, the PSO BRAVO! program reaches 10,000 students every year, providing free performances, coaching, music instruction, and opportunities for creative engagement.

A sampling of this year's auction offerings include a stay at a French castle, a Vermont vacation, a cultured getaway to Chautauqua, and a private dinner party prepared by PSO music director and chef extraordinaire Rossen Milanov at the home of PSO Executive Director Melanie Clarke. These items and more can be viewed online at princetonsymphony.org. Absentee bids are welcome and may be placed by calling the PSO office at (609) 497-0020.
