Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Holds Listening Party of Their Latest CD Tonight

By:

BUFFALO, NY -- The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra's Recording Arts Society will host a listening party at 5:30 p.m. tonight, April 21 at Pausa Art House, 19 Wadsworth Street.

BPO Music Director JoAnn Falletta and several members of the orchestra will be on hand to discuss the process of recording the orchestra's latest CD, "Built For Buffalo," which features three works that the orchestra commissioned from major composers. They will also speak about the BPO's new Recording Arts Society, a group of donors that support the BPO's recording projects. Recording Arts Society members enjoy benefits such as early copies of the CD releases and the opportunity to go behind the scenes of a recording project.

Admission to the listening party is free for current Recording Arts Society members, $5 for students, and $10 for the general public. Anyone who joins the Recording Arts Society that night will have their admission fee put towards the cost of membership. For more information, contact Jim Cichocki at jcichocki@bpo.org or (716) 242-7825.

As Buffalo's cultural ambassador, the Grammy Award-winning Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra under the leadership of music director JoAnn Falletta presents more than 100 concerts each year. Since 1940, the orchestra's home has been Kleinhans Music Hall, a National Historic Landmark with a reputation as one of the finest concert halls in the United States. During the tenure of JoAnn Falletta, the BPO has rekindled its history of radio broadcasts and recordings, including the release of 32 new recordings on the Naxos and Beau Fleuve labels.
