Ars Vitalis at Kean University to Present Carlos Franzetti in Concert, 4/21

UNION, N.J. -- Ars Vitalis: The New Jersey New Music Forum at Kean University will bring Grammy Award-winning composer Carlos Franzetti to the Gene & Shelley Enlow Recital Hall on Thursday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will showcase the Cranford, NJ, resident's wide-ranging talent and will include an eclectic mix of chamber music, jazz and Latin crossover repertoire.

? Enlow Recital Hall is located on Kean University's East Campus, 215 North Avenue in Hillside, NJ. ?

Franzetti won his first Grammy Award in 2015 as producer of the CD, "Tangos," and previously has won 5 Latin Grammy Awards for categories including Best Classical Composition, Best Instrumental Album and Best Tango Album.

"For 18 years, Ars Vitalis have been hosting some of the finest New Jersey area composers at Kean University, said Matthew Halper, DMA, Artistic Director and Kean Professor of Music. "This year continues that trend with Carlos Franzetti--one of Union County's most lauded artists."

Performers include: Brennan Sweet, violin; Mira Kang, cello; Franzetti, piano and conductor; Allison Brewster Franzetti, piano; David Finck, bass; James Musto, drums; Lawrence Feldman, soprano sax; Bart Feller, flute; and Maureen Hurd, clarinet.

Franzetti, along with the featured performers, will meet and greet audience members at a post-concert reception.
