Riverside Theatres' annual Spot On Children's Festival returns from 29 September to 4 October with a stellar program of interactive comedy, exciting theatre shows, acclaimed films, and plenty of free activities to inspire and entertain the whole family this spring school holidays.

This year is set to be bigger and better than ever, with incredible shows on offer including Ali McGregor's Jazzamatazz! Direct from a smash hit season in Edinburgh and the UK, the former Opera Australia singer who ran away to the circus, Ali McGregor, will be joined on stage by her band and dancers to perform jazzy beats and pop classics. Traversing the world of opera and pop culture like no other, the immensely talented McGregor will have both children and adults singing, prancing, twisting and dancing!

Much to the delight of ABC KIDS and CBeebies viewers, Australia's premier band for children and their families, Lah-Lah's Big Live Band, has joined this year's Festivalline-up. Lah-Lah Live in Concert will introduce audiences to the wonderful world of music and musical instruments with both new songs and old favourites. Mister Saxophone, Lola the Dancing Double Bass, Squeezy Sneezy the piano accordion, Tom Tom on the drums, and Lah-Lah and Buzz will take families on a journey of musical magic.

Continuing its dedication to relaxed performances, Riverside Theatres will again feature two relaxed performances in the Festival program, dismissing the traditional rules of theatre and catering to young audiences with additional needs or anxiety. During the relaxed performances of Mr Snot Bottom's Stinky, Silly Show! and Curious Jac, the lights will be kept on, patrons can come and go as needed, and children can meet the performers beforehand to relieve unease.

A highlight of this year's Festival will be the day-long film program, Be Kind: Rewind, with all tickets at the bargain price of $12 and under. Adults can enjoy and share their favourite childhood films on the big screen including cult classics such as The Goonies, The Princess Bride and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial; as well as see recent family favourites including Big Hero 6 and Cinderella.

Rounding out the bumper program will be numerous free activities in the Riverside Theatres courtyard including a play gym, face painting, a reading corner and oversized Jenga.
