LAByrinth Theater Hosts A Benefit Event With Short Plays & A Dance Party 6/16

LAByrinth Theater Company (John Ortiz, Artistic Director; Philip Seymour Hoffman, Co-Artistic Director; John Gould Rubin, Co-Artistic & Executive Director) will present a one-night-only Benefit event featuring short plays and a dance party on June 16, 2009 at St. Paul's Hall (Columbus Avenue at 59th Street). All proceeds will benefit LAByrinth Theater Company.

The LAB SHORTS THROWDOWN party, hosted by emcees Ron Cephas Jones, Daphne Rubin-Vega and Yul Vázquez, is thrown by LAB Company Members to celebrate LAB's upcoming season is the Company's 18th Season!

The evening will kick off at 8:30pm with an hour of scenes and short plays written by LAB Member playwrights like Eric Bogosian, Rebecca Cohen, Cusi Cram, Stephen Adly Guirgis, David Bar Katz and John Patrick Shanley - featuring performances by some favorite LAB actors and special guests.

At 10pm, segues into a memorable dance party to kick off the summer - featuring music by acclaimed maestros DJ Qool Marv, Aaron LaCrate and DJ Rekha!

Emcees Daphne Rubin-Vega and Yul Vázquez describe LAB as "a true creative community... The fact that there are cuties around is just extra."

Admission to the LAB SHORTS THROWDOWN is priced at $25 for the dance party, and $35 for the shorts and the dance party. VIP tickets for $75 include all-night priority seating and open bar.
