Bay Street Theatre continues its CABARET @ THE BAY series on Saturday May 9th at 10pm with Alfredo Merat bringing his unique blend of classical, flamenco, jazz and rock to Bay Street's intimate setting.

Merat, a renowned self-taught and ear trained musician, began the Café and Theatre circuit at the age of 17 and has toured Europe, performing in numerous resorts and restaurants. These venues helped Merat create a strong local following, especially in France where he was critically acclaimed as a "new talent in the making." His musical style has been shaped by the likes of Jacques Brel and Edith Piaf, The Cure and U2. Merat appreciates musical styles from around the world and fuses many of these styles with his own sound.

Merat has performed at many private parties, political events and fundraisers and has played several nationally acclaimed stages such as the Stephen Talk House in Amagansett, CBGB'S and Satalla. As a solo artist, Merat loves to explore different genres, many revolving around his travel experiences. Rhythmically upbeat and with songs like "Brazil", "La Verdad ", "Guernika", and "Afrika", he will transport any audience to The Edge of their seats.

Cabaret@ The Bay takes place Saturdays at 10pm following The Picture Show. Next up, join us on Saturday, May 16th for the Sunnyland Jazz Band. Tickets are $10 and can be reserved by calling Bay Street's Box Office at 631-725-9500. Any remaining seats may be purchased at the door on the night of the show.
