World's First Stand-up Vampire Brings Bloody Funny Show To The Fringe

After rave reviews at the 2018 Adelaide Cabaret Festival, two-time Helpmann Award-nominated performer Tommy Bradson and his vampire alter-ego Kevin are set to slay audiences all over again with biting new Adelaide Fringe comedy Two Sharp Teeth.

Kevin is just an every-day, regular guy. A regular 437-year-old guy... with two sharp teeth. And chronic eczema. And an irrational fear of garlic and sunshine.

OK, so Kevin's a vampire.

But this highly dangerous, blood-sucking member of the undead isn't all bad he just wants to make people laugh!

The comic creation of Sydney-born, London-based cabaret star Tommy Bradson, Kevin was adored by critics and crowds alike for his debut appearance in slapstick musical romp Nosferatutu or Bleeding at the Ballet ( silly, madcap fun - Time Out), which played to critical acclaim at the 2018 Adelaide Cabaret Festival and earned Bradson a 2017 Sydney Theatre Award nomination for Best Male Actor.

Now Kevin returns in a darkly funny new role as the world's first and finest (OK, only) stand-up vampire comic in Two Sharp Teeth, a one-man cult comedy at the Garden of Unearthly Delights.

Kevin is a comedy anti-hero for our times: angry, affectionate, addled, and a laugh-a-minute, says Bradson.

He might be a 437-year-old vampire with chronic eczema but he's also just a regular guy who catches the bus every morning, reads the news and goes on bad Tinder dates, like everyone else. He doesn't want to bite people, he just wants to fit in and make friends.

As Kevin shares funny anecdotes from his centuries of immortal existence, filled with razor-sharp observations of humanity, he embarks on a hilarious journey of self-discovery that ultimately becomes a joyful celebration of the weirdness within all of us.

A consummate storyteller, poet and provocateur (Artshub), Tommy Bradson is well known to Adelaide audiences for his hit Cabaret Festival shows Nosferatutu or Bleeding at the Ballet (2018), The Men My Mother Loved (2012) and Reg Livermore tribute Reg (2013), for which he earned back-to-back Helpmann Award nominations for Best Cabaret Performer.

His many other accolades include a Green Room Award for Best Cabaret, two Melbourne Fringe Awards for Best Cabaret, and a nomination for the prestigious Golden Gibbo at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Awards.

Direct from London for just a two week season, Two Sharp Teeth is the latest twisted comedy creation from this indie cabaret wunderkind that you can really sink your teeth into. Forget Dracula we need to talk about Kevin.

Two Sharp Teeth runs March 4 to 17 at The Spare Room in the Garden of Unearthly Delights. Tickets are now on sale via Fringetix at adelaidefringe.com.au or phone 1300 621 255, or visit gardenofunearthlydelights.com.au
