Award winning Aurora is the senior a capella vocal ensemble of renowned South Australian Choir School Young Adelaide Voices, they are a diverse and talented ensemble performing a range of repertoire from early music to contemporary pop. They will perform their beautiful The Lightness of Being at Christ Church, North Adelaide at 2.30pm Sunday 17 September.

Their program on 17 September will feature Benjamin Britten's Missa Brevis with Andrew Georg, organ, alongside works by leading Australian composers Sally Whitwell, Joseph Twist and medieval and Renaissance plainsong, the exquisite sound and harmonies of Aurora will enthral you.

Ms Anderson adds "Aurora have sung everywhere from on stage with the Rolling Stones at the Adelaide Oval to in the orchestral pit with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra for the Australian Ballet's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (Mendelssohn) to a defunct and derelict psychiatric "Z Ward".

"Highlights have included representing Australia in British Columbia, Canada, at the International Choral Kathaumixw, performing as part of the 3rd Anniversary of the Apology to the Stolen Generation in collaboration with the Ngarrinjeri Miminar Kaikulun Women's Choir from Murray Bridge, regional touring with Country Arts South Australia and undertaking a commissioned project, "Wild Girl" created by South Australian Composer Callie Wood.

"They have recently returned from two successful national tours, to Choralfest in Brisbane and Festival of Voices in Tasmania."

The ensemble has recently released their first CD "Joyful Girl", in collaboration with the Aurora String Quartet and Ukaria Cultural Centre.
