based on the play The Immigrant: A Hamilton Family Album by Mark Harelik

The true story of Haskell Harelik, a young Russian Jew who instead of passing through Ellis Island, enters through Galveston and struggles to assimilate into a rural community in Texas. Commonly referred to as the 'Galveston Movement,' Harelik's story begins like so many others in 1909, peddling a pushcart full of bananas and wares - but his fate is changed forever when he asks Milton, a small-town banker, and his Southern Baptist wife for a drink of water from their well. Harelik's compelling story of opportunity, success and the challenges of educating a new community is the essence of the American experience.

Schreiber and Johansson Set for A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE

Tony® Award-winner Liev Schreiber and Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson, in her Broadway debut, will star in Arthur Miller's A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE directed by Gregory Mosher on Broadway at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). Performances begin Monday, December 28, 2009 and the official opening is Sunday, January 24, 2010. The limited engagement will run for 14 weeks only.

On Monday, April 20th at 6:30pm the New York Landmarks Conservancy will host its 18th Annual Lucy G. Moses Preservation Awards. Among the recipients is the team behind the exterior restoration of Moynihan Station. The ceremony will take place at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, also one of the exceptional award winners. Named after distinguished philanthropist Lucy G. Moses, the coveted awards laud outstanding preservation efforts by individuals and projects.
