Residencies are designed to help playwrights take a project from the conceptual stage all the way to a production-ready script. Playwrights work closely with ensemble directors and members of the literary team to design a process tailored for the particular needs of their project.

Theatre Seven of Chicago and Stage Left Theatre announce a remount of their recent hit world premiere of Principal Principle, written by Theatre Seven Associate Artist Joe Zarrow and directed by Stage Left Ensemble Member Scott Bishop. Popular demand for Principal Principle made it the best-selling show in Theatre Seven's eight year history and the best-selling Stage Left show in over a decade. The remount will feature the original cast and will run from July 17, 2014 until August 17, 2014.

Stage Left Theatre has announced added performance for their hit production of Principal Principle by Joe Zarrow, as well as the programming for its 33rd season - Against the Grain. The company will offer three mainstage productions that center on characters who choose to fight against the expectations placed on them by others - for better or for worse.

Fox Valley Repertory continues their 2014 theater series with one of the best-loved American memoirs recounted from the book by siblings Frank Gilbreth and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey called Cheaper by the Dozen. This coming-of-age comedy, adapted by Christopher Sergel, will include nearly a dozen professional actors as well as another dozen youth actors making their professional debut. Stage Left Theatre is proud to partner with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events to present LeapFest 10, Stage Left's annual new-play festival, at the Storefront Theater (66 E Randolph), running tonight, June 11 - 30, 2013. LeapFest is an annual event featuring several new plays with socio-political themes, presented as workshop productions in rotating repertory. This year's festival includes new works from Scott Barsotti, Steven Haworth, Kristin Idaszak, Jayme McGhan, Steven Simoncic and Katie Watson.

This production celebrates the 100th anniversary of Pygmalion, which was first produced in 1913.

Coming off of their successful 2011/2012 season at Theater Wit, BoHo Theatre today announced its new Executive Director, Kaela Altman, who will be taking over the position from Peter Blair. Blair served as the company's Executive Director for two seasons following the tenure of founding Executive Director Tom Samorian in 2010. Blair will remain an active company member with BoHo.

Each production will be performed for five evenings only at the theater at Fullerton Avenue and Lake Shore Drive.
