Texas Performing Arts presents The University of Texas at Austin Wind Ensemble's first program of the performance season, with special guests Joseph Alessi, trombone, and the Jim Cullum Jazz Band, Sunday, September 16 at Bass Concert Hall. There's one thing Kneehigh Theatre wants you to know heading into BRIEF ENCOUNTER: this show is romantic. And it most certainly is - in the most British way imaginable. Director/writer Emma Rice's adaptation of the 1945 David Lean/Noel Coward film is a stunning mix of theatre, film and music that is as imaginative as it is achingly romantic.

The Adaskin String Trio, along with Hartt faculty and students, perform music of Professor Stephen Michael Gryc on Sunday, November 1, at 3:00 PM in Berkman Recital Hall. In celebration of Gryc's sixtieth birthday and 30th year of teaching at The Hartt School, the concert will include works composed during each of the past four decades, from the Five Preludes for Flute Alone of 1979 to the String Quartet of 2005. Admission is free.
