Jordan Barbour to Lead Quintessence Theatre Group's Live Reading of OTHELLO

Quintessence Theatre Group, Philadelphia's professional classic repertory theatre, is bringing the world of William Shakespeare into our homes with a reading of his classic tragedy, Othello. This reading, on Wednesday May 6 at 7:30 p.m., will be streamed on Facebook (www.facebook.com/QuintessenceTheatre) and on the company's website www.qtgrep.org.

From March 25-May 17, 2020 the company is presenting the Dreams and Madness Repertory. Each of these three plays explores the danger of love, the difference between dreams and madness, and the destructive power of authority and government.

One of Shakespeare's best-loved history plays, Henry V, opened Friday July 23 at Maine's Theater at Monmouth in a stylish and stirring performance directed by Mark Mineart. Trimmed to a little over two hours, the production, nonetheless, keeps the architecture of the masterpiece and all the most famous speeches, and performed as it is by a strong ensemble, it achieves an immediacy and truthfulness.
