MEMPHIS to Become Available on DVD and Digital Download in January!

Shout! Factory and Broadway Worldwide, Inc. today announced a new deal to bring Broadway's 2010 Tony Award®-winning Best Musical MEMPHIS to the home entertainment marketplace in the U.S. and Canada. Under this multi-year agreement, Shout! Factory will be the exclusive home entertainment distributor to release MEMPHIS featuring the original Broadway cast, on Blu-rayTM, DVD and for digital download. This announcement was made by Shout! Factory's founding partners Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos; and Broadway Worldwide's founder and CEO Bruce Brandwen.

The national tour of MEMPHIS will star Bryan Fenkart (Huey) and Felicia Boswell (Felicia) with Quentin Earl Darrington (Delray), Rhett George (Gator), Julie Johnson (Mama), Will Mann (Bobby), and William Parry (Mr. Simmons).

For the first time ever, audiences around the country will be able to experience Broadway's current Tony Award® winning Best Musical in their own home town movie theatre during its Tony Award®-winning year. Oliver Stone Wants MEMPHIS Movie?

Last week the New York Post reported that Justin Timberlake was interested in making a movie of MEMPHIS and this week ... it's Oliver Stone. The paper states that Stone is a big fan of the show which he's seen twice already and that he's been taking meetings with David Bryan. A representative for Stone confirms the director is interested in the project, telling the publication, 'He's thinking about it.'

The New York Post is reporting that while pop star Justin Timberlake was backstage with girlfriend Jessica Biel at MEMPHIS on Broadway last week, that he told the show's composer, Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan that 'he's interested in turning the show into a movie.' Timberlake, aged 29 was born in Memphis, Tennessee where the show takes place.
