A first look at the talented cast of the new arena tour production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is now available to view.

Jesus Christ Superstar, the global phenomenon that has wowed audiences for over 40 years, is reimagined for the 21st century as an arena rock spectacular. The biggest ever North American arena tour of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's groundbreaking rock musical is coming to Detroit at Joe Louis Arena on Saturday, June 28 with an extraordinary cast of rock, pop and R&B superstars.

The Really Useful Group and AEG Live concluded a UK arena tour of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary rock classic Jesus Christ Superstar back in 2013, which starred Tim Minchin as 'Judas Iscariot', Spice Girl Melanie C as 'Mary Magdalene' and Winner of ITV's Superstar, Ben Forster as 'Jesus'. It was officially announced on Good Morning America today that a 50-city US tour will kick off on June 9 in New Orleans, featuring Forster (Jesus), Brandon Boyd (Judas), JC Chasez (Pilate), Michelle Williams (Mary), and John Rotten Lydon (King Herod). Producers Howard Panter and John Frost today announced that the much loved iconic musical will open tonight, December 31, 2013 at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC, Brisbane followed by seasons at the Crown Theatre, Perth in February, and the Festival Theatre, Adelaide in March.

Filmed as an arena rock opera, the production boasts a star-studded line-up which includes award-winning musical comedian Tim Minchin in the role of Judas Iscariot; pop icon and former Spice Girl Melanie C as Mary Magdalene; DJ Chris Moyles in his stage debut as King Herod; and Ben Forster, winner of primetime TV talent search Superstar, taking on the title role of Jesus.

Now the arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar is returning - and he couldn't be more excited.

The rapturous recent arena tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's internationally celebrated rock opera JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR arrives on DVD, Blu-ray and Ultra-Violet in the US at long last on on September 10 and the items are all now available for pre-order.

Following the huge success of The Rocky Horror Show 40th Anniversary Production at the King's Theatre Glasgow in February and March 2013, the production is triumphantly returning between today, 6 - 10 August 2013 as part of its year-long run. Dani Harmer, finalist of Strictly Come Dancing 2012 and star of Tracy Beaker, will play the role of Janet. Ben Forster, who won the ITV1 series Superstar and then went on to play the lead in Jesus Christ Superstar, will star alongside Dani in the role of Brad. West End actor Oliver Thornton, follows in the footsteps of Tim Curry starring as the lead character of Frank 'n' Furter. Christopher Luscombe, who is the director of The Rocky Horror Show 40th Anniversary production, will play the role of the Narrator in his first acting role for over a decade.
