THE MOUNTAINTOP, SHAKIN' THE RAFTERS and More Set for True Colors Theatre Company's 2012-13 Season

Kenny Leon and True Colors Theatre Company announce their 2012-2013 season. This is the 10th anniversary season for Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company, which opens in November with a Regional Premiere of Leon's hit Broadway show, The Mountaintop by Katori Hall directed by Jasmine Guy. The Mountaintop will be followed by August Wilson's classic Two Trains Running in February 2013. The season concludes in July 2013 with Shakin' the Rafters, a World Premiere gospel musical by former Alliance Theatre Associate Artistic Director, David H. Bell, the writer who brought us Gut Bucket Blues and Hot Mikado.

Castillo Theatre's Presents FLOWERS BEHIND THE MOUNTAIN Tonight, 8/6

The Castillo Theatre is presenting four winning scripts from the 2012 Mario Fratti-FrEd Newman Political Play Contest, selected from over 200 entries including submissions by playwrights from around the world. The plays are being directed by distinguished theatre professionals and will be presented on Mondays, beginning tonight, August 6 and continuing August 13, 20 and 27 at 7:00 p.m.

Direct from a 13-city National Tour, Bring It On: The Musical opens on Broadway tomorrow, Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at The St. James Theatre for a 12-week limited engagement through Sunday, October 7, 2012. Jason Robert Brown to Take Part in Broadway Dreams Foundation Intensive at Kimmel Center, 7/30-8/5

Philadelphia's Broadway dreams will come true for the fourth consecutive summer when The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) partners with The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts to present their Summer Performing Arts Intensive July 30 through August 5, 2012. Jason Robert Brown, Tony Award winner for Parade, and a faculty of Broadway professionals will teach master classes during the week to aspiring Philadelphia area students interested in pursuing a career in musical theatre. A week's end, the Broadway faculty will perform alongside BDF students in "Express Yourself," a unique concert event directed by acclaimed New York director Matt Lenz (Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast) at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts' Perelman Theater on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 3 pm and 8 pm.
